Key concepts students will learn:

  • In a story told from third person, the narrator is outside of the story, but in a story told from first person the narrator is a character in the story.

  • A first person story creates closeness between the reader and the narrator, while a third person narrator is necessarily a bit removed from the characters.

  • In second person, the narrator addresses the story to the reader using the word 'you'.
