βImagine an airplane is flying straight and level. The pilot then pushes the control column forward. Describe what happens to the elevator, and explain in detail how this affects the pitch of the airplane. An airplane is flying in a straight line, but a crosswind is pushing the nose of the plane slightly to the right. Explain which control surface the pilot would use to correct this, and how its deflection would create a yawing moment to counteract the crosswind.β
