Guided Notes
Key concepts students will learn:
- •
The compressor separates the low pressure and high pressure sides of the system, taking in low pressure, low temperature vapor refrigerant and outputting high temperature, high pressure vapor refrigerant.
- •
Within the condenser coil, the refrigerant transitions into a saturated state where both vapor and liquid exist, and the temperature decrease in liquid form is called subcooling.
- •
The metering device causes a pressure change, turning high pressure, high temperature liquid refrigerant into a low pressure, low temperature mix, while the evaporator coil facilitates heat absorption, leading to a superheat effect.
