4-digit addition with regrouping in word problems
Learning Objective
I can solve word problems by adding four-digit numbers with regrouping.
Key Concepts
A multi-digit number is any number greater than 9.
When adding multi-digit numbers, you ALWAYS start with the ones place column and work your way to the left.
When adding digits in a column results in a two-digit number, you must carry the digit that you don’t have room for up to the top of the next number place column; this is also called re-grouping.
