Guided Notes
3 key concepts
- 1
The mean of a data set is the same as the average, and it is found by adding all the values together and dividing by the number of values.
- 2
The median is the middle value in a data set, but you must first put the data set in numerical order. For data sets with an even number of values, find the mean of the middle two numbers to get the median.
- 3
The mode is the value that appears most frequently in a data set; a data set can have one mode, multiple modes, or no mode at all.
