Learning Objective
I can measure objects to the nearest inch and half inch using a ruler.
- 1
When measuring with a ruler, always line up the left end of the object with the zero mark on the ruler.
- 2
The small lines in between the whole inch marks represent half inches, and the longest of these lines is typically the ½ inch mark.
- 3
When measuring to the nearest half inch, the measurement will either land on a whole inch mark or a ½ inch mark.
