How to Organise Layers in Photoshop

Guided Notes

3 key concepts

  • 1

When working with clients on design projects, it's useful to name layers and keep them somewhat organized, but the final polishing and organization can wait until the end when you supply the PSD file.

  • 2

To organize layers, select elements using the auto-select function, group the layers (using command/control + G), move the group to the top, and name the group.

  • 3

After grouping and naming layers, you can further organize by going into each group and naming the individual layers within the group.
