French Verb Tenses
Learning Objective
I can use different French verb tenses (present, futur proche, futur simple, passé composé, imparfait, conditionnel) to express actions in various time frames.
Key Concepts
As a beginner learning French, you only need to know one verb tense: the present tense, or le présent de l’indicatif.
To conjugate verbs in the compound past (le passé composé), you need the auxiliary verb “être” or “avoir” in the present tense, followed by the past participle of the verb.
To conjugate verbs in the near future tense (le futur proche), conjugate the verb “aller” in the present tense, followed by the infinitive of the verb you want to conjugate.
