    The testes are located outside of the body in the scrotum because sperm production requires a lower temperature than core body temperature.

    Spermatogonia are stem cells in the outermost layer of the seminiferous tubules that divide to produce spermatocytes, which undergo meiosis to form spermatids.

    The seminal vesicles secrete a fluid containing fructose and prostaglandins to nourish sperm, decrease the viscosity of cervical mucus, and trigger reverse peristalsis in the uterus.
