I can connect appliances to circuits using appropriate wiring methods and special outlets.
- 1
In a series of outlets, brass screws receive black wires, which carry current, and silver screws receive white (or neutral) wires.
- 2
When wiring outlets in sequence, the black (hot) wire connects to the top brass screw and goes out of the bottom brass screw to the next outlet.
- 3
Ground wires from the line in, two-wire cables, outlet pigtail, and box pigtail are all connected together for safety.
